Organic & Biodymanic® Farming
Mark Neal is considered the most prominent organic and Biodynamic® farmer in Napa Valley and currently farms a significant amount of certified organic acreage,as the owner of both Jack Neal and Son Vineyard Management (JNS) and Neal Family Vineyards. Over the years, Mark has collected generational knowledge working alongside his father, developed tools for precise farming and viticulture needs, and invented technological tools that result in the most elegant and complex wines. Mark has worked in the wine business since 1966, and during that time, he’s assembled passionate teams at both JNS and Neal Family Vineyards. Mark is the true definition of a vigneron.
The Vigneron
Mark Neal architects and farms his vineyards, grows his own high-quality grapes, and oversees the entire winemaking process.
The differences between Regenerative Farming and Regenerative Organic Certified® are significant. Forecasts have predicted with the current chemical, industrial, sustainable farming practices globally, that within 60 years the topsoil will be depleted. These farming practices contribute up to 25% of the climate crisis emissions currently. The ROC®; Certified Organic & Biodynamic® organizations worldwide are powerfully working to reverse climate change. Currently only 1.6% of agriculture in the world is organically grown. We are proud to be the first vineyard in Napa Valley to achieve the Regenerative Organic Certification®.
We celebrate the farming methods we implemented for over 58 years and continue to make top scoring wines, under this commitment. Our wines continue to showcase this foundation we have established in Napa Valley that others will follow. We have always wanted our wines to personify our commitment to organic farming at the highest level and believe these achievements are a testament to the quality that can be produced under these farming methods.
