Winemaking
Winemaking Napa Valley Cabernet
Neal Family Vineyards fundamentally believes that a wine can only be as great as the grapes from which it is made. We know from experience that wine grapes grown under a precise combination of soil, climate, and cultivation practices in the vineyard play an integral role in creating an exceptional bottle of wine. Mark lives by organic and Biodynamic® farming practices that enhance each vineyard’s inherent and distinctive qualities, resulting in each wine’s ultimate flavor profile. Our wines are 100% sourced from Napa Valley and are made with estate fruit.

The Winery
Our Howell Mountain property represents a lifetime of love, labor, and commitment to Mark’s family, business and passion. He purchased the land in 1990 and the winery was completed in 2001. Painstakingly built into the mountain’s side, with barrel aging caves blasted into the hillside, the winery’s design allows for a natural flow between winery and cave. The facility is small and efficient with state-of-the-art winemaking tools and winemaking team to make the highest quality organic Napa Valley wines.
Commitment to Organic
After taking a leading role in the implementation of certified organic and Biodynamic® agricultural practices in Napa Valley, Neal Family Vineyards continued to commit to organic in the winery as well. Neal Family Vineyards has been certified by CCOF as a certified organic facility since 2009. The Howell Mountain Estate is Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC), obtaining the first ROC certification in Napa Valley.
